This organic cotton has environmental benefits for the planet combined with health benefits for the consumer.
One well-hidden point concerning organic Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets is that these sheets are really softer and longer wearing than “regular” Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets. The chemical procedures that the cotton can be coated with when going through the growing and fabricating process will basically damage the plant material, albeit it’s not obvious in the beginning. The extended outcome of chemically coated cotton is the fibers breaking earlier, resulting in a rougher fabric and ultimately a sheet that wears out quicker.
If you are now contemplating buying Pima or Egyptian Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets to use on your bed and are in a position to spend slightly more money, you could want to think about investing in organic Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets; you will probably be surprised at the difference the absence of chemicals can make. The good news is, investing in organic Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets will not compel you to destroy the household budget. Organic cotton may be bought in the same price ranges as standard Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets, so we all can profit by this earth-friendly choice.
Target, for example, features a perfectly respectable queen-sized set of organic sheets which cost about $50. These sheets can be obtained in several solid colors and are really soft and comfortable. Target Stores have been setting the standard for providing all-natural housewares to the ordinary consumer for many years all ready, and their collection of organic bedding is one result of that corporate focus. Another must see is the different Bedding Duvet Covers.
If you prefer your retailers and appearance to be a bit more upscale, Bed, Bath & Beyond as well has a selection of organic Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets. The label says Simply Organic, and a queen-sized set of these sheets can cost you somewhere near $90. These sheets have deep pockets to conform to modern super-plush mattresses, and they are available in a number of shimmering colors.
If your priorities are somewhat more selective and your spending plan is able to support that, you might think about visiting Rawganique.com and checking out their organic Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets. Rawganique promotes sheets manufactured in Europe using sweatshop-free labor. These sheets have no dyes, or other chemicals. The sheets additionally come with complimentary sachets of soapnuts, about enough to clean a single load of laundry. Naturally, this degree of European luxury is nowhere near bargain priced; a set of queen-sized sheets sell for $240. A nice one to check out are the various Duvet Comforter Cover.

PostHeaderIcon How comfortable are cotton sateen weave 500 thread bed sheets? Are they too warm?

My mother in law gave us this nice looking bed sheets but I am unsure if they are actually very comfortable, I am suspecting that they are too warm for the summer, are these better for the winter? Since it is a 500 thread fabric, it is not thin and I am wondering it this is ok for the summer. The package simply says Everyday Luxe a Hotel Collection, 500 thread count 100% cotton sateen weave. I am used to the cheaper cotton and polyester kind and I am almost going back to the store and exchanging this. What is your experience with this kind of bed sheet?

PostHeaderIcon Who is the first people who knows cotton planting ?

Egyptian or Chinese or Indians

PostHeaderIcon Would you rather sleep on cotton or flannel sheets? ?

PostHeaderIcon Anyone else can not sleep on “cotton sateen”?

I don’t think I washed them first but I just wanted to try them out. They felt weird to sleep on to me, like they felt "thick" Generally just not comfortable. I also can’t sleep on cotton percale sheets either, which are not 100% cotton. I really like regular 100% cotton sheets.

PostHeaderIcon How many cotton sheets should I use for making my wraps?

I ride a 17.2 hand danish warmblood gelding who wears a size 4 shoe, and we do pony club. i’m going to make my own wraps (cheesecloth/ wool pads and flannel bandages) so that I will have a good wrapping box before I go for my upper level ratings, and I want to know how many cotton sheets I will need to use for my pads. I want to have 2 long enough for a shipping wrap (about 18" in height), 4 for stable wraps (16"), 4 for standing wraps (14" maybe?) and then 2 12" in case I go for my H/B or H/A and I end up getting a little pony.

I was planning on making 4 flannel bandages 6 inches tall and 17 feet long.
And then for my spider bandage I was going to get a 3′x2′ sheet, make 3 12" tall and 24" wide spider bandages.

Do my second measurements sound about right? and how many sheets of cotton should I get for my pads? and how much cheesecloth?
i meant cheesecloth/cotton pads.

and is it a good idea to make a set of wool bandages for standing wraps? i keep my horse clipped in the winter and i’ve been considering wrapping his legs so that he doesn’t get cold.
I’m talking about something similar to the pillow you wraps you buy at the tack store. I have plenty of those, but for the upper level pony club ratings, they require you to have home-made wraps. So instead of using the pillows wraps from the store (which I have) you have to take sheet cotton (like cotton batting used for quilting) fold it and cut it to make it thick as a pillow wrap, and then you cover it with cheesecloth. It’s basically like a pillow wrap but easier to wrap with. Also, you can change it (cut it) to fit the horse you are working with.

I’m heading out to Joann’s later today to buy my materials, and I want to know how much cotton batting I’m going to need to buy to create wraps with the measurements I mentioned above.
And for my spider bandage, they want it to be made out of something sturdy like flannel or denim. I figured I would just get flannel because it’ll be at the store and when the ties break I’ll just have extra.
